Beading Workshops

Beading workshops allow participants to reconnect with tradition and create something mindfully with their hands. This art practice encourages students to slow down and dig into their creative center. At the end of each workshop artists will leave feeling rejuvinated; with their own woven peice(s) and an overall sense of pride and accomplishment.

Current Offerings:

  • Learn to bead on a frame, whether metal, wood, or acrylic.

  • Learn to weave earrings with no fringe, this is a basic and highly versatile form of beadwork.

  • Learn to create a pair of woven earrings beginning with a brick stitch top, then adding fringe.

  • Learn to bead on pellon beading foundation, add backing and the technique of edging. Choose to weave one item for a keychain, or two sides for a pair of earrings.

  • Fringe pattern designed specifically for the workshop

  • Curated beading kits for participants to keep

Considerations:

  • If this workshop is for a minimally funded program to teach youth, please note this in your inquiry. I have beading mats, needles and thread that can be borrowed during the workshop.

  • Generally I do not invest in up front costs for workshops. I will provide an invoice for materials.

  • In most cases, participants will continue the craft beyond the workshop. It is preferred that the materials are funded and each involved student is allowed to keep their materials to continue the craft.
